Hessonite, called Gomed in Hindi, is a gemstone found in shades of brown, orange, and reddish-brown. It’s one of the nine Navratna stones used in astrology, especially during Rahu periods to ease challenges. Mined mainly in Sri Lanka and some parts of Africa, the best quality ones come from Sri Lanka and are called Ceylonese Gomed. Hessonite is believed to bring good luck, wealth, health, and career success. Depending on its quality, a natural Hessonite can cost anywhere from a few hundred rupees to a few thousand rupees per carat.
